We’re thrilled to announce we are working on the launch of an exciting initiative to celebrate the incredible people and stories within New Zealand’s manufacturing sector - the "Future Makers" campaign.

 

To put it simply, many Kiwis don’t realise just how strong and innovative New Zealand’s manufacturing sector is. We have a rich history of craftsmanship and ingenuity, and today, some of the world’s most cutting-edge technologies are being developed right here. But too many job seekers don’t know about the opportunities in the sector, and local investors may not recognise the potential right on their doorstep.

 

New Zealand is an incredible place to back homegrown innovation, where you can support world-leading products and technologies without ever leaving the country. Even our government might not fully grasp the scale of what’s happening. It’s time we shine a light on this hidden gem and make sure Kiwis understand the incredible opportunities right here at home.  There’s a lot to be proud of – and it seems off the radar. With your help, we’re going to start changing all that.

 

We need your help!

 

We’re looking for manufacturers, businesses, and individuals to share their unique stories. Whether it’s a groundbreaking innovation, an inspiring career journey, or a proud moment of problem-solving excellence, a moment of business daring-do, we want to hear about it. 

 

Here’s how you can get involved:

 

Nominate a Story:   We want your favourite stories!   Not the corporate version. Not the press release or the shareholders’ report.  We want your fun, maybe quirky – but inspiring tales of mind-blowing technology, fascinating people, and brave business journeys. What are the anecdotes you pull out at parties?   What are the nuggets that catch people’s attention?

 

For example, the refrigeration apprentice who now launches rockets….

 

We’d love you to submit a brief description of yours or other’s businesses, stories of personal success, or the cool or unusual journey of an individual.

 

Don’t feel pressure to write a novel - just some key points.

 

Be a Hero:  Volunteer to feature in our hero content – from video interviews to case studies.

 

Engage with the Community:  Contribute to user-generated content by joining fun challenges. No influencer or film-making experience required!  We’re going to be doing a social media content training session across the country to encourage manufacturers to get involved.
