Vocational education reform consultation begins

The Government has started the consultation process to replace Te Pūkenga with a new regionally responsive model for vocational education and training.

Through the consultation process, which is open for six weeks, the Government is seeking feedback on proposed reforms for three parts of the vocational education system. These are:

Vocational education and training that delivers the skills that industry needs now and into the future is a key concern for our Members

The Review of Vocational Education (RoVE) process was very disruptive for Te Pūkenga staff, learners and employers, so continuity of service during this reform, and getting the systems right  now and into the future to provide consistency going forward, is important.

Ensuring this policy review is informed by industry needs is also vital for the development of our future workforce and we encourage Members to engage with this consultation process.

We will also be providing feedback to Government on these proposed reforms and would value the views and feedback of Members. If you would like to share your feedback please email catherine@amanz.nz
